Smoke Billets: Messages from Spirit in the Dance of Smoke
Smoke billets provide a blank canvas for Spirit to communicate through creation of patterns, images and symbols. Each billet becomes a unique message from Spirit forming the basis for a special reading. In this example, my dog Luna showed up on my billet – a delightful surprise and affirmation from my guides and teachers!
What is a Smoke Billet?
A smoke billet is created by holding an index card over a candle, allowing Spirit to impress an image through the flame. The resulting marks and shapes often form recognizable symbols, figures, or patterns that carry meaning and insight.
Every billet is as unique as the person it’s created for. The imagery can shift, evolve, and reveal new messages over time—reminding us that Spirit is always in motion, always speaking, and always near.
How It Works
Setting the Intention:
I begin by centering in prayer and inviting Spirit to guide the process. This helps focus the energy for the person receiving the billet.Creating the Billet:
Using a clean card and an open flame, I gently allow Spirit to form impressions on the card. I never force the design—Spirit leads the way.Interpreting the Message:
Once complete, I study the shapes, textures, and figures that appear. With Spirit’s guidance, I interpret the symbolism and messages being conveyed.Sharing the Experience:
During your session, we’ll review the billet together. Whether in person or via Zoom, I’ll walk you through the interpretation and any intuitive messages that accompany it. Afterwards, I can send you a photo of your billet. Or, if you wish, the billet can be mailed for you to treasure and review to observe any changes over time. While shipping can be difficult and there are no guarantees that it will not smudge or be damaged in the process, great care will be taken to do whatever is possible to protect it during transit.
A Note on Meaning and Mystery
The beauty of smoke billets is their spontaneity and freedom of expression. Spirit uses this medium to speak in symbols and shapes that can be viewed from many angles and viewpoints. Additional messages or clarifications may unfold gently over days or weeks. Each smoke billet is a moment captured in sacred smoke—a message from Spirit, created just for you!

45 Minutes – $115
60 Minutes – $150
Each session includes the creation of a custom smoke billet and a guided reading based on the imagery and spiritual insights it contains.
Delivery Options
Smoke billets are delicate and prone to smudging, but I offer a few options to preserve your piece:
In-Person Pickup (if local)
Photo by Email or Text (always included)
Mailing – Available upon request for an additional charge
While I take great care in packaging, I cannot guarantee the billet will arrive without minor smudging due to its fragile nature.
